{"id":1221,"date":"2015-04-26T16:06:18","date_gmt":"2015-04-26T16:06:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/farrellgrp.com\/homepage\/?p=1221"},"modified":"2019-05-28T19:56:39","modified_gmt":"2019-05-28T19:56:39","slug":"emotionally-intelligent-behaviors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/farrellgrp.com\/homepage\/?p=1221","title":{"rendered":"Emotionally Intelligent Behaviors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Travis Bradberry recently published a great\u00a0article called &#8220;18 Behaviors of Emotionally Intelligent People&#8221; (<em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/time.com\/3838524\/emotional-intelligence-signs\/\">http:\/\/time.com\/3838524\/emotional-intelligence-signs\/<\/a><\/strong><\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re like me, keeping up with 18 things is next to impossible.\u00a0 However, in my work as an Executive Coach, I&#8217;ve found the following 3 behaviors important to high performing leaders:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0<strong> Knowing Strengths and Weaknesses<\/strong> &#8211; An awareness of self and of relationships can be a most humbling experience.\u00a0 But its worth it.\u00a0 How can you be better?\u00a0 Doing more of the good, and less of the not as good, is a great path to follow.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0<strong> Giving and Expecting Nothing in Return\u00a0<\/strong>&#8211; Giving without an expectation of getting is difficult for an awful lot of people.\u00a0 High performers understand that what they have to give is not truly theirs.\u00a0 They only serve as stewards assigned with the heavy responsibility of making sure that the gifts they have are given (gratefully) to others.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0<strong> Curiosity About People <\/strong>&#8211; This one is tough because at first glance, some people just don&#8217;t automatically arouse our interests or curiosities.\u00a0 Leaders however, know that everyone has unique and powerful stories to tell.\u00a0 More important, leaders stop, look, and listen with interest as others share their experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Take a look at Mr. Bradberry&#8217;s list.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll find many behaviors worthy of your focus.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Guy Summers<br \/>\nFarrell Group, L.L.C. 2015<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travis Bradberry recently published a great\u00a0article called &#8220;18 Behaviors of Emotionally Intelligent People&#8221; (http:\/\/time.com\/3838524\/emotional-intelligence-signs\/).
